Malaysia Beats India And Qualifies To The 2018 Hockey World Cup!

It was a glorious day for Malaysians on Thursday especially the national hockey team after they managed to edge out India in a dramatic 3-2 win at the Hockey World League.

This win automatically qualifies them the 2018 Hockey World Cup championships. Congratulations, boys!

Muhammad Razie Abdul Rahim scored at the 19^th and 48^th minute while his teammate, Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin Tengku Abdul Jalil, scored during the 20^th minute.

According to The Star, history was made as this is the first-time Malaysia has secured a top four spot in the World League semi-finals.

The national team will battle it out to the finals against World No.1 and Olympic champions, Argentina in the semis this Saturday in London.

Malaysia is currently ranked 14^th in the world.

“It is a dream to qualify for the World Cup. It is even more sweet that we beat India to achieve it,” said the national squad coach, Stephen Van Huizen to the New Straits Times.

We wish our national team all the best and hopefully they’ll take home the win. Malaysia boleh!
