Greater Manchester Police released on Thursday new CCTV images of suicide bomber Salman Abedi, and asked the public for help in tracking his movements in the days leading up to the attack at Manchester Arena on May 22.
“We are still working to track the movements of Salman Abedi and have already released a number of images of him, in the hope that they will jog people’s memories,” police said in an update.
Abedi left the UK on April 15, police said, and he purchased parts for his homemade bomb after arriving back in the country on May 18.
But police are still trying to determine if Abedi had any bomb parts before leaving the country in April.
Abedi opened a bank account 12 months ago and used it to purchase nails and screws for his explosive device, The Times reported. He purchased the metal objects on trips to DIY stores B&Q and Screwfix. He reportedly built the device inside a £75-a-night flat in the centre of Manchester.

Earlier this week, officers raided an address in the Banff Road area of Rusholme following a public tip-off. Police are still not sure why Abedi went to this area or who he spoke to leading up to the attack.
“You may think it’s insignificant, but it could be a key piece of information to assist us,” police wrote in a plea for more details about Abedi’s movements between May 18 and May 22.
Twenty-two people were killed and 17 remain in “critical care” after the terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert last week.
